THE ROLE

As Manager Sustainability Product you are responsible for developing and implementing the roadmap that ensures the sustainable commitments and regulations regarding product are honored. You manage a small team that supports you with monitoring, reporting, and measuring Karl Lagerfeld’s social and environmental impact and measure against the companies’ commitments. Together with your team you are responsible for ensuring that accurate data is timely collected, and documentation is well organized. You and your team will be the point of contact for our suppliers and factories to secure compliance with Karl Lagerfeld’s social and environmental standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Be the CSR product expert that implements the KARL CARES strategy from a product perspective. This includes development of the sustainable materials strategy, guide and assess social and environmental impacts at suppliers through Higg FEM/FSLM, and present sustainable product updates to other departments. 
    • Be informed of and share all relevant (policy) developments with the in- and external stakeholders.
    • Mapping of Karl Lagerfeld supply chain implementing the traceability software and continuously monitoring social and environmental compliance. 
    • Risk assessment production countries based on OECD Due Diligence Guidelines
    • Ensure RSL (Restricted Substances List) compliance and further develop environmental supply chain requirements in line with Higg FEM focus areas for all in-house production.
    • Manage the Higg BRM data for all in-house production.
    • Manage the publication of supplier list on open supply hub.
    • Manage annual update of Karl Lagerfeld supplier manual, policies, RSL and MRSL and create guiding documents for KL-Suppliers.
    • Manage brand certification for GOTS, RCS, OCS and GRS. Guide suppliers and ensure products carry the correct sustainability tag.
    • Working closely with the Product development teams and CSR representatives within the company
    • Manage, support, and guide the Sustainability team Product. 

THE PROFILE

    • Minimum of 5 year of relevant work experience in CSR/ Sustainability in fashion 
    • Familiar with the Cascale - Worldy tools (FEM – FSLM & BRM) and experience with guiding suppliers onboarding these.
    • Knowledge and understanding of social compliance standards.
    • Knowledge and understanding of material and product certification.
    • Excellent skills in Power Point presentations. 
    • Fluent in English
    • Strong organizing skills
    • High performance orientation through self-motivation and agility.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changes in shifting priorities.
    • High energy and hands-on attitude with a clear bias for action; solution orientation and getting things done.
