Medical biology is at the heart of Zoī's check-up process, with nearly 200 biomarkers analyzed. The Lab Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all stages of medical biology sampling, in close collaboration with internal healthcare teams and external partners. This role involves establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with external laboratories in every Zoi center area, to ensure medical analyses are conducted cost-effectively, within deadlines, and according to required quality standards.
Main Missions
- Optimize and make frictionless the existing laboratory partnership
- Serve as the main point of contact with the laboratory and work closely with healthcare teams, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow from sample collection to the receipt of results.
- Implement and oversee procedures for the collection, transport, and management of biological samples, ensuring their integrity and traceability throughout the process
- Regularly analyze and report on partner performance, analysis turnaround times, and end-user satisfaction to ensure service excellence
- Quality Standards and Best Practices
- Ensure the highest quality standards (Cofrac, ISO 15189, UE 2017/746) and best practices in sampling are applied, driving continuous improvement processes to uphold and match the excellence that Zoī strives for.
- Streamline and strengthen the existing biomarker database
- Work closely with medical and data teams to build a knowledge base on the biomarkers used in the center, including methods, protocols, accuracy, tags, and more.
- Help on building a scientifically-backed range database that corresponds to optimal health standards.
- Work on strategic initiatives
- Enabling and implementing new strategic partnerships with external labs ensuring a consistent level of quality and data comparability across laboratories.
- Assess on the opportunity to setup Zoī-owned laboratories from a biomedical perspective to enhance control and efficiency
- Serve as the primary Contact for Medical Biology
- Act as the main point of contact cross-teams for all matters related to medical biology sampling and external analyses, addressing queries and concerns to ensure clear communication and problem resolution,
- Master's or PhD in Medical Biology.
- Advanced knowledge of biomarkers, LOINC nomenclature, and reference ranges.
- Previous experience in a medical biology lab.
- Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, CAP, etc.) and best practices in medical biology.
- Experience managing multi-site teams or overseeing outsourced laboratories is a plus.
- Strategic thinker aware of business stakes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on detail and process improvement.
- This role demands a dynamic individual who can navigate the complexities of medical biology operations, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and timely analyses through effective collaboration and strategic planning.
