Accounting Team Manager

The chosen professional will play a key role in preparing, reviewing, and presenting financial statements with precision, ensuring strict adherence to the regulations of the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF) and all applicable capital market standards in Chile. This position requires solid technical expertise, a strategic outlook, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated and challenging environment while safeguarding the reliability and accuracy of all accounting and financial data.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the accounting team, ensuring accurate delivery, timely closings, and compliance with quality standards.
- Oversee the accounting of market operations, including securities trading, custody, settlement, and derivatives.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS, CMF regulations, and Chilean tax requirements.
- Manage regulatory, management, and HQ reporting, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the CMF.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and manage relationships with auditors, regulators, and key external stakeholders.
- Design, maintain, and strengthen internal accounting and financial control procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement, operational excellence, and best practices within the accounting function.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field; CPA / Public Accountant qualification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a brokerage firm, securities agency, fund management company, or other capital markets entity in Chile.
- Proven experience leading accounting teams, with strong organizational, planning, and people-management skills.
- Advanced English level, both spoken and written.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, CMF regulations, Chilean tax legislation, and accounting processes related to securities trading, custody, settlement, and derivatives.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally Softland and/or Microsoft Dynamics, plus strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
