We are looking for an experienced risk leader who will play a key role in further developing XTB’s risk management framework across the Group and act as a close partner to the board. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be the CRO’s senior delegate for the day-to-day leadership and development of the Group risk function.

This is a senior leadership role combining strong technical risk expertise, business judgement, and people management. You will lead experienced specialist teams, play a key role in Group-wide risk processes, and help ensure that XTB’s approach to risk continues to evolve in line with the increasing scale, complexity, and international footprint of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group Risk Oversight: Support Group-wide oversight of risk management across XTB and its subsidiaries, supporting consistent risk governance, effective identification and escalation of material risks, and appropriate challenge of the business.

  • Capital Adequacy & Prudential Processes: Oversee Group-wide capital adequacy, capital planning, and prudential processes, including regulatory capital requirements, ICAAP/ICARA, stress testing, and forward-looking assessments of capital needs.

  • Prudential Reporting: Ensure effective oversight of prudential reporting across XTB and its subsidiaries, including consistency of methodologies, data, and regulatory requirements across entities.

  • Financial Risk Management: Provide senior oversight and strategic direction for financial risk management, including market and counterparty risk, stress testing, risk limits, and monitoring of key financial exposures.

  • Modeling & Valuation: Provide direction and challenge in relation to the development of financial risk models and valuation methodologies, including those used for derivatives and options.

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop experienced risk professionals and Team Leaders, set clear priorities, and ensure effective allocation of resources across ongoing responsibilities and strategic initiatives.

  • ERM Development: Support the further development of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, including risk assessment, risk appetite, monitoring, and management reporting.

  • Product & Strategic Review: Participate in the assessment of material new products, strategic initiatives, and changes to the business model, ensuring that their risk and capital implications are appropriately understood before implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience: Significant experience in risk management within a regulated financial institution, preferably an investment firm, bank, or other business with material trading and financial market exposure.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in either capital adequacy / prudential risk OR financial risk management, combined with a strong working understanding of the other area.

  • ERM Principles: Broad understanding of Enterprise Risk Management principles, including risk appetite, risk assessment, monitoring, escalation, and risk governance. Experience in developing or materially improving an ERM framework would be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite.

  • People Leadership: Proven people leadership experience, including managing experienced specialists and Team Leaders, setting priorities, developing people, and ensuring effective delivery across multiple workstreams.

  • International / Multi-Entity Operations: Experience working in an international or multi-entity environment, with the ability to coordinate risk management processes and requirements across subsidiaries and jurisdictions.

  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Ability to operate effectively at senior management level and provide credible, independent challenge on material business and risk decisions.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior management and the ability to constructively challenge business decisions while building trusted relationships across the organization.
