Communications System Engineer – Cyprus, Greece
The role:
We are looking for a professional who will help us build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. You will join a team of talented engineers who handle multiple technologies across various environments with focus on VoIP and Telecom, delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Design, deploy, and maintain VoIP systems
- Configure and manage FreePBX/Asterisk servers, extensions, trunks, and dial plans
- Configure and manage SBCs (Kamailio and/or OpenSIPS)
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to voice services to ensure optimal performance
- Design, deploy, and maintain Linux servers
- Diagnose network-related issues
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation
- Communicate with vendors and support integrations
- Identify opportunities for system optimization, recommend improvements, and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements to our communication systems
- Maintain comprehensive documentation that includes network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
Main requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing communication systems
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP and network protocols (SIP/S, RTP/RTCP, TCP, UDP)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
The following will be considered an advantage:
- Proven experience in SIPS and SRTP
- Experience in SMS gateway administration.
- Session border controller configuration and administration experience (Kamailio and/or OpenSIPS)
- Linux experience
- Multichannel and/or omnichannel communication experience
