IT Governance Officer 
 
 
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced IT Governance Officer to join our fast-growing team! The successful candidate will join a team that is responsible for collaborating with our main IT stakeholders to define, own, and set into operation a formal IT governance framework, as well as monitoring its application and maintenance according to our evolving needs.  
 

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Help in the establishment of an IT Governance framework which will inform and align decision-making for Information Technology project planning, policies, and IT operations, with enterprise strategic business objectives  
  • Develop and establish appropriate IT Governance policies, procedures, and consistent practices across the whole IT organisation  
  • Ensure necessary awareness and monitors the effective implementation of all IT policies and procedures within IT  
  • Communicate the governance activities, policies and decisions to IT Management and Business Leadership and keeps them informed of any IT Governance decisions that will affect IT services and projects  
  • Establish solid IT Service Management (ITSM) practices   
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of incident and problem resolution activities  
  • Track configuration items/assets in conjunction with application and infrastructure teams and makes sure that an adequate level of technical documentation is maintained  
  • Track change requests and ensure these are correctly administered, documented, maintained, and coordinated in a timely fashion  
  • Run and maintain a Change calendar, keeps Production informed of the forward schedule of work and manages the release of changes to the Production environment  
  • Set the standards for the development and maintenance of an asset database/CMDB, as well as the practices and controls needed to keep it up to date by application and infrastructure teams  
  • Collaborate with all IT teams to help formalise their processes, as well as processes level KPIs and formally documents and maintains these principles in the form of the Trading Point IT Governance manual  
  • Help, define, and maintain process level KPIs and SLAs and provides key metrics on process performance and SLA adherence across the whole IT organisation   
  • Support the development, proliferation and adherence of Enterprise Architecture standards, policies and guidelines as cascaded from the Enterprise Architecture team  
  • Support the development, proliferation and adherence of Enterprise Data Governance standards, policies and guidelines as cascaded from the Enterprise Data Governance team  
  • Support business relationship management initiatives and practises, to help strengthen the relationship between business and IT 

Main requirements:

  • BSc/MSc in computer science, information technology, engineering, or in a related field
  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of and experience in the following:
    • Analysing, documenting, and re-engineering complex business processes
    • Designing and developing workflows for IT processes using relevant tools (e.g., JIRA)
    • Identifying, establishing, and managing process level KPIs, Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL); thorough understanding of the principles of Incident Management, Change and Release Management
    • IT Service Management platforms/tools
    • Project Management Methodologies (e.g., Prince2, PMP, Agile/Scrum/Kanban)
  • Technical experience and/or knowledge of a typical development team workflow and understanding of the typical developer tools involved is a plus 
  • Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organisational, critical thinking, and analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding leadership skills, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
