Physical Security Officer
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate Physical Security Officer to join our Information Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of physical security systems and controls to protect people, property, and assets. In addition to the above, the successful candidate will provide support and assistance to members of the Information Security department, and the wider business.
Main responsibilities of the position include:
- Deploy and configure physical security systems (e.g., access control systems, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, intrusion detection systems, etc.) and ensure they meet security requirements and standards.
- Regular maintenance and troubleshooting of physical security systems and controls.
- Document new and maintain existing physical security processes and procedures.
- Conduct physical security assessments and identify potential risks and areas for improvement related to physical security.
- Work closely with senior team members and contribute to projects the team delivers.
Main requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Information Technology or any other relevant degree.
- Basic understanding of networking and IT infrastructure as it relates to physical security systems.
- Familiarity with physical security technologies (CCTV, access control systems, alarms, etc.).
- Knowledge of CCTV management software and access control system management software.
- Knowledge of basic security concepts.
- Analytical and methodical. Critical thinker and problem solver.
- Very good verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Very good organizational and time management skills.
- Adaptable and fast learner.
- Cooperative and team player.
The following will be considered an advantage:
- Network engineering/security knowledge is considered an advantage.
- Entry level network engineering qualifications (CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA Network +) or certifications in Physical security (PSP) will be considered an advantage.
