Side by side with MAN Truck & Bus, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, we are hiring for a dedicated team in our Hub. 🚚
MAN Truck & Bus is focusing on four key areas:

Thus transforming itself from a commercial vehicle manufacturer to a provider of intelligent and sustainable transport solutions.
About the Team:
The electrification of our whole truck-portfolio wears on at pace. A particular challenge applies to the charging of whole electric fleets in a depot.
Therefore we need to support our customers with an optimization service to calculate the most efficient trajectory to charge each single vehicle for the upcoming mission and minimize the overall costs for the customer at the same time.
Your Responsibilities:
- Working in the context of autonomous vehicles you will create, test, deploy and run (DevOps) backend solutions and internal tools using modern cloud infrastructure;
- You will develop and maintain functionality for our future trucks, using agile methodologies and being responsible for integral parts of our technical roadmap;
- You will create products, prototypes and MVPs, supporting and directly interacting with our electric vehicles;
- You take care of cloud native microservices using containers, serverless functions, RESTful APIs and event streaming;
- You will be able to take end to end responsibility for the products you build, working closely with other departments to test your software as part of the complete system;
- You advise your team and other teams on all questions around backend and tool development in the electric vehicle area and work together on continuously improving the service, tooling and processes;
- You take initiative to solve problems and overcome roadblocks, being the interface between electrical engineers, IT technology and the user. You are a result-oriented individual;
- You are happy to learn new technologies and to solve problems in innovative and pragmatic ways.
Your Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or comparable job expertise;
- At least 5 years of experience;
- Relevant experience in the conception and implementation of complex software solutions in an international context;
- Solid experience with backend development in Kotlin/Java with focus on RESTful APIs and event driven architecture (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, MQTT);
- Relevant knowledge in frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot);
- Relevant knowledge of database management systems (like Postgres or DynamoDB);
- Solid experience with Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles as well as common software design patterns. Emphasis on quality, maintainability and usability;
- Team-oriented mindset and strong collaboration skills;
- Very good English skills, both written and spoken;
- Having an Agile and DevOps mindset;
- Experience with CI/CD and microservice or serverless architecture;
- Experience in using and integrating cloud services (preferably AWS) with cloud paradigms like Infrastructure-as-code, alerting and monitoring is a plus;
- Knowledge of Python for rapid prototyping and tooling is also an advantage.
