About the role

We are thrilled to present an excellent opportunity for a Junior Hardware Test Engineer to join our global services and R&D team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing state-of-the-art medical cameras. While your primary focus will be on electronics and hardware testing, you will also have the chance to work with and learn about PC hardware building and upgrading, Windows troubleshooting, and even software engineering for testing.

You will work closely with Field Service Engineers as well as development and QA teams to support medical devices worldwide, contributing to advancements that significantly enhance patients' lives.

This position is open to both junior and experienced candidates.

Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Provide second-line support to field service engineers and colleagues to review system and log information to identify technical root cause analysis (RCA) of problems.
    • Write detailed RCA reports for use by the development team in the identification and repair of software issues,
    • Help specify, plan, maintain, optimise and diagnose deployments of our software applications on windows clients and servers within the customer's environment.
    • Produce and verify change-order documentation to deploy updates to live systems.
    • Working with Azure DevOps, manage and prioritise backlog and life cycle of issues.
    • Support the entire software development lifecycle including debugging, quality assurance and installation/deployment,
    • Support customer system integrations during development, roll-out and into the future.

Essential Skills & Experience

    • Experience in hardware/electronics testing and troubleshooting/system engineering testing and troubleshooting or related testing experience (but willing to consider a graduate with relevant education)
    • PCB diagnostics & fault finding
    • Knowledge of DVM and Oscilloscopes
    • Knowledge of PCIe
    • Competence in communicating in the English language both orally and in writing
    • Sufficient experience of working in a team environment

Desirable skills & experience

    • Building workstations from scratch, either for work or home. This includes; installing Windows, upgrading hardware i.e. RAM, CPU, GPU, etc
    • Interest or experience in programming ideally C# or any OOP language
    •  Azure DevOps
    • Good understanding of computer Networking and Operating systems
