About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join the Hardware team within the Innovations group at Vision RT.
Working within the Hardware team as part of the Innovations group, the primary role will be the design of low power, electronic products including circuit design and layout using OrCAD. The role will also entail some support of testing with external test houses to medical standards such as ISO 60601 and assisting with documentation for design control / regulatory submissions. The work includes developing prototypes that demonstrate the feasibility and potential of our innovative ideas and concepts and seeing these through product realization. You will collaborate closely with other team members and Product Owners to translate conceptual designs into functional and interactive prototypes and also work on hardware components within the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Circuit design including schematic capture and PCB layout, taking into consideration EMC, signal integrity and thermal issues
- Work with other team members and Product Owners to develop new product concepts
- Participate in requirements capture, design reviews and design verification
- Undertake new product developments from concept to production
- Follow appropriate design and quality standards and procedures
- Support existing designs including component obsolescence, design enhancements and resolving manufacturing issues
- Produce design documentation, including specifications, test plans and test results
- Support EMC testing, Safety testing and Regulatory submissions
Essential Skills & Experience
- At least 7 years' experience in relevant industry developing high reliability, low power electronic products
- Knowledge of high speed circuit design, microcontrollers, design for EMC
- Experience with prototyping / development / debug of new designs
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Able to self-manage projects with little oversight and deliver on-time
- History of demonstrating numerical and analytical skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Cadence OrCAD
- Knowledge of FPGA design using VHDL
- Knowledge of PCIe, USB, Image Sensors
- Knowledge of testing to ISO standards such as ISO 60601, or similar.
- Experience of working within a regulated industry
- Knowledge of the radiotherapy discipline and keenness to gain more understanding
