About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our international accounts team. In this role, you will oversee the monthly Consolidated Management Accounts for the Group, which includes subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, China, Australia, Poland, Spain, Korea, and India. Your responsibilities will cover month-end tasks such as revenue recognition, cost of sales, accruals, prepayments, and maintaining the fixed asset register. You will also handle debtor, creditor, and bank revaluations and intercompany reconciliations.
You will manage a team of four, fostering a collaborative work environment. Your duties include overseeing VAT/GST returns and local compliances, collaborating with local accountants, and ensuring accurate invoicing and timely collections. Additionally, you will lead the preparation and filing of statutory accounts and assist with year-end duties and the annual audit.

Key responsibilities will include:

    • Month End:
    • Responsible for the monthly Consolidated Management Accounts for the Group.  We currently have subsidiaries based in the USA, Germany, China, Australia, Poland, Spain, Korea and India.
    • Responsible for month-end tasks such as revenue recognition, cost of sales workings, accruals, prepayments, and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
    • Responsible for Debtor, creditor, and bank revaluations.
    • Responsible for Intercompany reconciliations

    • Team Management:
    • Mentoring and managing a team of four people – two Management Accountants, one Accounts Payable Manager and one Accounts Receivable Manager, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment
    • Responsible for VAT/GST Returns, including any other applicable returns/local compliances in the Subsidiaries, ensuring deadlines are always met.
    •  Collaborate with local accountants/advisors to align subsidiary account balances with the Group's accounts.
    • Ensure the Sales ledger team issues correct invoices to customers considering local VAT implications and requirements as well as reviewing debtors report to ensuring dues from customers are collected on time.
    • Ensure the Purchase Ledger team handles all payments to worldwide customers and employees efficiently and all invoices are posted on time for Month end including accruals.

    • Statutory Accounts:
    • Lead the preparation and filing of the Statutory Accounts in Subsidiary countries ensuring all deadlines are met
    • Assist with Year-End duties and annual audit for the group.

    • Ad hoc:
    • Carrying out project work such as streamlining systems and implementing efficient processes.
    • Perform other ad hoc duties as required by the Group Financial Controller and Finance Director. 

Essential Skills & Experience

    • 5+ Years’ experience working as a Management Accountant, with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
    •  5+ years’ experience working at a similar level in finance
    • Qualified Accountant, preferably ACA
    • International Experience
    • A Can-do Attitude and proactively taking initiatives and finding solutions with day-to-day issues
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong analytical skills, with high attention to detail
    • Good Excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables and Sum ifs
    • Ability to work to strict deadlines
    • Solid understanding of basic accounting payable principles, including a good knowledge of VAT in the UK and international VAT
    • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
    • Project Management experience
    • People management

    • Experience using Sage 200, Credit Hound and TM1 - Apliqo
    • Experience using Paperless
    • Experience using Web Expenses
