About the Role:
Superb opportunity for an excellent Senior Software Engineer in Test to join this rapidly growing, global radiotherapy medical device manufacturer headquartered in London. As Test Engineer you will join a team of friendly, highly qualified and accomplished professionals and have the opportunity to make a real difference.
Office working: Hybrid3 days in Basingstoke office
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Go through the software requirements and get clarifications on one’s doubts
- Become familiar with the software under test and any other software related to it
- Understand the test plan
- Generate test cases based on the requirements and other documents
- Procure or create test data required for testing
- Set up the required test beds (hardware, software and network)
- Test software releases by executing assigned tests (manual and/ or automated
- Log defects on defect management tool
- Create test logs
- Report test results to the test and product owner
- Provide clarification for the reassigned bugs (for example, when a bug report is returned as not reproducible)
- Re-test resolved defects
- Update test cases based on the discovered defects
- Provide inputs to the team in order to improve the test process
- Report work progress and any problems faced to the Test Lead or Manager as required
- Support Offshore test resource in setting up test environment.
- Support the team with other activities as required, if any
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Software Engineering/ Coding with either Java, C# or any OO Language (i.e. writing Test Scripts, good knowledge of OOPs concepts & Classes,etc)
- You will have come from a solid testing background with experience in manual and automation testing
- 5+ years of in software testing
- Test management tools such as Quality Centre/ALM, SpiraTest, practices.
- Using defect management tool such as Mantis, Jira etc.
- Designing test case and logging defects
- Maintaining requirement traceability metrics
- Generating defect and test execution reports
- Exploratory testing and eye for identifying defects
- ISTQB Certification is Mandatory
