ABOUT THE TEAM  
 

We are seeking a Merchant Risk Manager to join our Munich office, where you will play an important role in strengthening our risk framework, driving operational excellence, and supporting the continuous evolution of our risk management practices.  

What your work will look like:

  • Play a key role in managing and enhancing the merchant risk program, supporting the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks across payment card processing, alternative payment methods, and fraud prevention activities. 

  • Monitor merchant transaction data to proactively detect suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to investigate incidents and implement effective resolutions. 

  • Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to internal stakeholders and external partners on merchant risk management, fraud prevention strategies, and chargeback handling best practices. 

  • Contribute to maintaining high-quality risk data and reporting standards, ensuring accurate insights that support informed decision-making across the business. 

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Knowledge of the payment industry or relevant experience in the banking industry. 

  • High-risk underwriting knowledge, including experience in assessing and managing high-risk merchants and industries, is preferable. 

  • 2+ years’ experience within payments-related and/or risk management positions. 

  • Experience with SQL queries for data extraction, filtering, and analysis would be a strong plus. 

  • Analytical, problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and willingness to challenge the status quo ongoingly. 

  • Fluency verbally and in writing in English is mandatory.
