ABOUT THE POSITION
What your work will look like:
- Contribute to production code within engineering teams, delivering meaningful features and improvements from the first weeks onward.
- Continuously develop technical and professional skills through the structured UnzerNEXT curriculum, mentoring, and hands-on experience in real engineering environments.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to design, implement, test, and review software solutions.
- Apply AI tools as a default part of the development workflow, including spec writing, code generation, verification, and review.
- Participate in two team placements across different domains to build a broad understanding of Unzer’s systems and business.
- Own and deliver a “Signature Project” demonstrating end-to-end engineering capability and business impact.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, graduating in 2026 or graduated within the last 12 months.
- Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, systems thinking).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with modern development practices (e.g., Git, testing, CI/CD).
- Ability to effectively use AI tools in software development workflows.
- Experience with software development through academic projects, internships, open source, or personal work.
- Solid written communication skills (e.g., clear PR descriptions, documentation, and design explanations).
