ABOUT THE TEAM  
 
You will be a part of the Risk Control department for the Unzer organisation. As part of the RC team, you are expected to deeply immerse yourself into topics and areas, to identify and manage any obstacle that could hinder the organisation to meet its strategic objectives and ensure that the organisation acts within the set risk appetite set by Unzer.
 
This is an exciting dual-role in which you will have the opportunity in developing, enhancing, implementing and managing the enterprise-wide (financial) risk management framework to ensure that risks and controls are effectively managed within the organisation, as well as managing the credit risk for the Buy Now Pay Later portfolio.  
You will also work in close collaboration with management/teams/people across the organisation, in different geographical location.

What your work will look like:

    • Be the local expert and support to the teams/people in risk related matters.
    • Ensure that appropriate governance is in place and that the risk framework is implemented/integrated.
    • Further development and maintaining Unzer policy, guidelines etc in accordance with the relevant regulations.
    • Ensuring gaps are identified as well as offering solution/changes/preventives measures. 
    • Monitor and analyse the performance of the Pay Later portfolio, identifying trends and emerging risks.
    • Use your analytical mindset to identify, track and monitor key trends, insights and high-risk segments that could contribute to potential losses.
    • Create and run key performance reports to ensure senior management remains updated on key risk measures.
    • Continually assess the framework and propose changes to meet regulatory, risk and control requirements.
    • Support in carrying out (credit) risk analyses as well as review of the (existing) control.
    • Preparation and support of the internal and external audits as well as other (regulatory) audit.   
    • Implementation and monitoring of training and risk awareness programs.
    • Supporting the Group Risk Control functions with various projects, tasks, and/or other enterprise risk/risk control related activities.  

What you need to be successful in this role:

    • Proven experience in (Credit/Financial) Risk Management 
    • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
    • Knowledge of Prudential regulations
    • Excellent analytical skills, logical thinker with strong attention to detail. 
    • Ability to engage and build relationship with (senior) stakeholders
    • Experience with data analysis tools and software such as Excel, Tableau, R or SQL is pre
    • Languages: working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English (German is a plus). 
    • 2+ years of experience within enterprise risk, risk control, financial risk management, audit, consulting, payment and/or banking industry.
