About The Team 
At Unzer, our Site Reliability Engineering team plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our applications, and ensuring that our payment platforms exceed user-experience expectations. Adopting a cloud-first strategy, we collaborate across departments to enhance our systems and services. Our focus is on combining engineering excellence with operational discipline to ensure top-tier reliability and automation for both customer-facing and internal applications. 

What your work will look like:

    • Work closely with engineering teams to create resilient, high-performing, and scalable systems. Influence technology choices and improve our infrastructure and applications' reliability. 
    • Collaborate to automate repetitive, manual, or risky tasks, developing tools and integrating systems that enhance our foundational infrastructure and platform services. Support our engineering teams in building, deploying, and operating with greater efficiency and reliability, directly contributing to an improved developer experience. 
    • Establish and refine monitoring and alerting, to ensure operational smoothness and anticipate infrastructure needs and potential failures. Contribute to the resilience and reliability of our systems through effective maintenance strategies. 
    • Engage in on-call duties, applying your knowledge of distributed systems to swiftly address and rectify issues. Promote a culture of learning and improvement by conducting thorough post-mortems. 
    • Lead initiatives to advance our technological processes, enhance security measures, and support cloud-native development. Empower our engineering teams with the tools and practices needed for successful deployment and operations at scale. 

What you need to be successful in this role:

    •  At least 3 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, or an infrastructure-focused DevOps role. 
    • Solid expertise in cloud systems, with a deep understanding of AWS Stack. 
    • Strong background in managing and optimizing Kubernetes clusters at scale. 
    • Experience in implementing and managing monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus) to ensure application reliability and performance. 
    • Demonstrated experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code practices and with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins. 
    • Proven ability to debug, fix, and optimize code, with troubleshooting skills across applications, networking, and systems. 
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for working in a fast-paced environment. 

    • Nice to have: 
    • Experience with GCP is a significant plus 
    • Proficiency in building tooling using programming or scripting languages, including but not limited to Go, Python, and Bash. 
    • Solid understanding of Linux and networking principles
