ABOUT THE TEAM
The Cloud Platform Engineering team is working on the creation, organization, stabilization and optimization of on-prem and cloud infrastructure in Unzer, standardizing various systems used in the Unzer environment. We are helping teams across the whole organization to create reliable and high available architecture.
You will report to the Cloud Platform Engineering Manager. We have a cloud-first strategy, and you will have the opportunity to be a part of technology and tooling decision-making processes in our team.
What your work will look like:
- Be responsible for the evaluation of cloud strategy and program architecture
- Take responsibility for gathering system requirements and working together with application architects and owners
- Write terraform, configuration management scripts and templates (Ansible) required for the automatic provisioning of resources
- Manage cloud organisations with FinOps in mind, select the most suitable cloud native services and create internal standards for their usage
- Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed following best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
What you need to be successful in this role:
- You have 3+ years of expertise in cloud concepts (with AWS and/or GCP), and you worked with high available systems and cloud organisations
- You have experience with configuration management (Terraform, Ansible) and have worked with source control (GitHub)
- You have a good understanding of Linux, networking concepts, and programming skills (Python, Golang, JavaScript, Bash, Java/Groovy)
- You are keen to take ownership, and step in and support your colleagues when needed
- You understand CI/CD concepts
- You know security basics and follow best practices in your systems design
- You have an excellent communication skill in English
- Nice to have:
- Experience working with Docker containers and Kubernetes, deploying microservices and cluster maintenance, AWS EKS, GCP GKE
- GCP and/or AWS certifications
- Experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions, understanding of ITIL practices
