A map is a statistical data product that is only as good as its data quality system. Map data quality is central to all our customer discussions. As Senior Product Manager for the Maps Quality Platform, you want to be at the forefront of ensuring that our maps’ quality meets our customers’ high expectations(such as Volkswagen, Microsoft or Uber). At Orbis Maps Quality & Insights, we strive to understand the quality of our map data and location services and benchmark against competitors. We are a service and platform organization with about 200 engineers and data scientists, and our products are used by most other departments in the organization.

What you'll do

    • You deeply understand the customer’s quality expectations, making sure the platform allows map data producers in the organization to check map quality in line with those expectations, e.g. rule-based checks running in streaming mode to avoid unsafe speed limits getting introduced in the map. As new insights come in, you re-prioritize the roadmap
    • Evangelize the Maps Quality Platform, educate map data producers what quality means for their customers, inspiring them to put quality at the coreof their roadmap, resulting in further adoption of the quality framework
    • Look at processes end-to-end: taking other parts of the quality framework into account and help the organization distribute investments in a way that maximizes the overall result for our customers (highly reliable map intake processes and superior user experience)
    • Work closely with leadership and customers to mature the long-term vision and carefully balance the needs of different stakeholders
    • Work with external map customers/prospects who want to understand the quality of our map for their use case
    • Working with internal teams who want to understand how their products perform and implement areas for improvement
