At TomTom, we power billions of location-based decisions every day. The Location Analytics team sits at the intersection of maps, traffic, and data science, building analytical products that help enterprises, governments and partners understand how the world moves.

Our portfolio includes Traffic Stats, Historical Traffic Volumes, Origin–Destination Analysis, Junction Analytics, Area Analytics, Route Monitoring, and Road Safety Analytics products, and is evolving towards an AIfirst location intelligence platform.

Our mission is to turn TomTom’s marketleading map, traffic, and mobility data into highquality, actionable insights that help governments, enterprises, and partners make better, datadriven decisions at scale. We build analytics platform and APIs that combine large, diverse location datasets and make them easily accessible through modern, AIfirst and developerfriendly interfaces. Our work enables customers to answer complex location questions, discover patterns, and generate insights that go beyond raw data - from road safety and traffic optimization to insurance and smart cities use cases.

  • Design, develop, and implement predictive models, algorithms, and statistical analyses for large-scale, spatio-temporal datasets to uncover patterns and trends within data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and formulate data-driven solutions that drive innovation and optimize performance.
  • Partner closely with Software Engineers and UX designers to productize models, integrate them into scalable pipelines and APIs, and power intuitive, customerfacing frontend applications.
  • Work with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks to process and analyze large volumes of location data.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

What you'll need:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist, ideally at a product-focused software company.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data sets and applying predictive analytics.

  • Experience with reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI).
  • Familiarity with Azure technologies (e.g. Power BI, Databricks).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

TomTom is an equal opportunity employer

TomTom is where you can find your place in the world. Every day we welcome, nurture and celebrate differences. Why? Because your uniqueness is what makes you, you. No matter your culture or background, you’ll find your impact at TomTom. Research also shows that sometimes women and underrepresented communities can be hesitant to apply for positions unless they believe they meet 100% of the criteria. If you can relate to this, please know that we’d love to hear from you.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
