In TomTom we are developing new generation HD maps for Lane-Navigation and Advanced-Driving-Assistance -Systems.
These new generation maps need to be very accurate and very actual to be used for the next generation vehicles designed for automated mobility.
To achieve this accuracy and actuality the maps are produced from multiple sources using artificial intelligence techniques to automated the production. Main sources we use are:
Satellite images giving top view of the road
Images recorded by a mobile mapping vehicle with very accurate sensors giving very accurate recording of the road
Sensor Observations from person vehicles  with a very actual recording of the road-infrastructure
To explore the usability of these new maps for automated mobility functionality, a rapid prototyping environment is build that can be used to develop a prototype vehicle together with partners such as knowledge institutes and automotive industrial partners.
We are looking for a student supporting the project editing map samples operating the tools in the rapid prototyping environment.
