At Swave Photonics, we’re not just dreaming about the future: we’re building it! We are a fabless semiconductor company that designs and markets holographic chips based on proprietary diffractive photonics technology. Our mission is to enable display manufacturers and content creators to disrupt the visualization market with immersive ultra-high resolution, life-like, true holographic displays.

Imagine a world where holographic displays make the impossible possible, where visualization meets collaboration and transforms productivity. Joining Swave means being at the forefront of this revolution, shaping the future of immersive technology.

To drive our ambitious vision, we’re opening a position of Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer.

Role and responsibilities:

As a Senior Mixed-Signal Design Engineer at Swave, you will be a key architect of our holographic pixel control systems. You will lead the design, verification, and layout of critical analog and mixed-signal blocks, ensuring seamless integration with digital logic to drive our next-generation technology.

Core Responsibilities

  • Circuit Design: Execute full-flow schematic entry and design of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Verification: Perform rigorous pre- and post-layout verification to ensure silicon functionality across PVT corners.
  • Layout Leadership: Provide detailed guidance to layout engineers and perform hands-on layout for critical blocks to minimize parasitics and noise.
  • Digital Collaboration: Partner closely with digital designers to define interfaces and ensure robust top-level mixed-signal functionality.
  • Silicon Characterization: Take ownership of chip bring-up, using lab tools and automation to validate design performance against specifications.

You will report to the VP Engineering.
Location: This role is based in Leuven, Belgium

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Analog/Mixed-Signal (AMS) IC design.
  • Tooling Expertise: Advanced proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools, specifically Cadence (Virtuoso/Spectre) and Calibre (LVS/DRC/PEX).
  • Proven Track Record: At least one (ideally multiple) successful tape-outs in Sensor ICs and/or Power Management ICs.

Bonus points:
  • Power Management: Design experience with DC-DC converters, LDOs, and bandgap references.

  • Image sensor chip ownership would be a plus.

  • High-Speed Interfaces: Background in high-speed data path design or signal integrity.

  • Reliability Analysis: Practical experience with IR-drop and Electromigration (EM) analysis.

  • Lab & Automation: Experience with bench characterization and automation via Python (or similar scripting languages).

Soft Skills & Personality

  • Collaboration: A proactive communicator who enjoys bridging the gap between analog and digital domains.
  • Agility: A startup mindset—comfortable wearing multiple hats and solving ambiguous technical challenges.
  • Language: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Belgium on a full-time basis.
No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
