To support the growth of our activities, Swave is opening a position of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) Designer. As part of this team, you will be responsible for working on novel photonic designs, preparing test chips for tapeout, testing and characterizing the photonic structures.

Role and responsibilities:
- Contributing to photonic chips layout and tapeout.
- Interacting with internal and external customers for gathering requirements.
- Interacting and coordinating with the foundries during the tapeout process.
- Contributing to design of experiments as well as design of characterization setups specific to given prototype chips.
- Preparation and execution of the test and characterisation protocols, including analysis of experimental results.
- Applying good documentation practices and communication with all stakeholders, e.g. IC design team.

Qualifications:
- Professional work experience is not required, but can be a plus.
- Master Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Photonics Engineering, Physics or related fields.
- Have worked on the layout and tapeout process of a chip at an academic or professional level.
- Academic or professional experience with IC design software like Cadence, Klayout, GDSTK.
- Good programming skills, especially Python and major packages like Numpy, Pandas, etc.
- Experience working with source control systems like GIT.
- Experience working with package management systems like Conda.
- Understanding of object oriented programming with Python is a plus.
- Understanding of electronic and photonics integrated circuits process technologies is a plus.
- Experience working with wafer probing stations is a plus.
- Experience with basic optomechanics setups is a major plus.
- Meticulous and structured to approach delicate tasks.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
- Not afraid of doing hands-on/routine work.
