At Swave Photonics, we’re not just dreaming about the future: we’re building it! We are a fabless semiconductor company that designs and markets holographic chips based on proprietary diffractive photonics technology. Our mission is to enable display manufacturers and content creators to disrupt the visualization market with immersive, ultra-high resolution, life-like, true holographic displays.

Imagine a world where holographic displays make the impossible possible, where visualization meets collaboration and transforms productivity. Joining Swave means being at the forefront of this revolution, shaping the future of immersive technology.

To drive our ambitious vision, we’re opening a position of jr. IC Design & Characterization Engineer. As part of our IC Design team, you will contribute to IC design and integration, interacting with physical design, analog design, and the chip lead to produce world-changing display ICs.

Role and responsibilities:

- Design and layout support: Perform schematic entry, assist in the design of analog and mixed-signal circuits (e.g., sensors, power management, high-speed data interfaces, ESD), and assist with analog layout.
- Verification and simulation: Perform block-level and sub-system verification using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence/Synopsis) and work with digital designers to ensure proper integration and functionality.

Characterization Focus:

- Bring-up and testing: Execute full electrical characterization, lab testing, and data analysis of post-silicon ICs to ensure performance meets specifications.
- Test Automation and support: Implement test automation and data management solutions. Support internal/external customers of Swave chips, which may involve owning and maintaining electrical characterization equipment, various PCBs with Swave chips, and ensuring company-wide standardization of software/firmware support.
- Process improvement: Contribute to the improvement of design flows, methodologies, and the overall characterization process.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of design, simulation, and verification results.

You will report to the Analog Design Team Leader
