Principal Data & AI Consultant
As our Data Practice Lead, you'll be the most senior data consultant in the company, covering everything from data platforms and architecture to data science, advanced analytics, and applied ML. We have a solid data engineering team: what we need is someone who can walk into a client meeting and talk about a modern data platform just as convincingly as a predictive model in production, and turn that into signed work. You'll own a commercial target across the full data and narrow AI spectrum, and you'll hit it by shaping what we sell, making client conversations more credible, and expanding existing accounts into data and ML work.
Your job won't be to generate leads. It's to help our sales team do that, then turn those leads into real deals through consultative sales. You'll work closely with account managers and innovation consultants, joining deals early as the person who diagnoses the business problem, builds the ROI case, and makes the client believe in our proposed solution. Importantly, you'll shape our service offering, build sales enablement materials, and make sure the wider sales organisation knows how to sell data work confidently. You'll also collaborate with our AI Director to ensure data science and narrow AI complement our growing Agentic AI practice, so clients see one integrated AI & data capability.
This is a senior individual contributor role at principal level. We're part of a publicly listed Finnish technology group with offices across Europe. You'll have both strong product thinkers and engineering talent to build on.
Your day to day will include:
- Owning a revenue target across data, advanced analytics, and predictive AI
- Leading executive-level client conversations, joining deals early to diagnose the business problem, structure a solution, and build the ROI case that gets the client to sign
- Proactively working the pipeline with sales: turning digital and AI engagements into data platform and AI projects, activating existing accounts, identifying expansion opportunities, and keeping momentum on deals in progress
- Deciding what our data and narrow AI offering looks like: which use cases, how we position them, what we package, and how we talk about them
- Working with business unit directors to understand what data and analytics problems their industries are actually trying to solve right now
- Making sure data, data science, and narrow AI connect into our broader AI transformation story rather than running as a parallel track
- Expanding our AWS and Databricks partnerships, bringing in new ones where they make strategic sense, and using them to open doors
- Spotting opportunities to build reusable solution components that underpin our offerings, supporting a hybrid consulting-plus-assets model
- Building sales enablement materials, prototypes, and running workshops so account managers and new business managers can spot and warm up data opportunities without needing you in the room
- Producing thought leadership - events, whitepapers, and content that positions us as credible data and ML practitioners in our target markets
- Keeping the data team sharp: advising on skill development within the data team, identifying what roles we need to deliver credibly, and running upskilling sessions
What makes you thrive here:
- 7-10 years in data and AI, ideally a mix of consulting and client-side work
- A background that spans data engineering and data science which makes you credible in front of clients
- Real delivery experience: you've built and shipped data and ML solutions, rather than designed them on paper, but never taken to production.
- A track record of closing complex enterprise data deals, or being the technical voice that made the close happen
- You've owned or co-owned a revenue target and understand how pipeline development and account growth actually work
- Comfortable running workshops, advising senior clients, and building the kind of trust that turns a single project into a long-term account
- Fluent English is a must; Hungarian is not required, and we're open to candidates across European markets
- Finance, insurance, or energy experience is a strong plus
