Senior Engineering Manager, Search Insights
What we will be doing
- Technical Leadership and Vision - Provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural oversight for the Search Insights team. Collaborate with engineers to build solid technical strategy, drive adoption of service-oriented architectures, and modernize approaches across our .NET, TypeScript, React, and AWS stack.
- End-to-End Delivery - Own the team's end-to-end delivery, ensuring timely execution of the development lifecycle from concept to launch while meeting business goals. Establish and maintain patterns for delivery excellence across a distributed team.
- Team Leadership and Development - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~7 engineers including both full-time employees and long-term contractors. Hire and manage engineering performance, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture across time zones.
- Product Partnership - Partner closely with Product Management to own the product roadmap and delivery outcomes. Ensure the team delivers true customer value by translating business requirements into technical solutions that prove SEO impact through clear reporting and metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with product teams across the Search Pillar (including Content Optimization), other platform pillars (Accessibility, Analytics, Content Strategy), data science and AI teams, and go-to-market teams to deliver innovative search features that drive measurable outcomes for enterprise customers.
- Technical Modernization - Modernize existing Siteimprove codebases and integrate acquired technology platforms. Drive adoption of industry-standard patterns and open-source solutions over bespoke technologies.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making - Leverage data insights to prioritize features and enhancements that help customers monitor indexability, site structure, content discoverability, and search performance across traditional and AI-powered search experiences.

What we will require of you
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years managing engineering teams.
- Proven experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, architectural oversight, and hands-on technical involvement when needed.
- Experience hiring, developing, and managing engineering performance across distributed teams.
- Track record of partnering with Product Management to own roadmaps and deliver customer outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills, using data to guide technical and business decisions.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities across cross-functional teams and time zones.
- Experience delivering software solutions in enterprise SaaS or B2B environments.
