SGGC is strengthening its technology, digital and AI capabilities to support the firm's strategic priorities, investment activities and operations. As Technical Lead, AI & Digital Products, you will play a central role in driving SGGC's AI transformation agenda, including the build-out of AI-enabled applications, workflow automation, internal digital products and technology platforms. The role will span problem definition, solution design, technical delivery, deployment and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring the successful candidate to build and lead a small engineering team while remaining directly involved in coding, technical design and code review. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and end users to identify high-impact opportunities for AI adoption, automation and digital product development, and to deliver practical, secure and scalable technology solutions. The role will also strengthen SGGC's engineering practices and provide recommendations on architecture, cybersecurity, data protection and technology risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the scope, roadmap, architecture and end-to-end delivery of SGGC's AI transformation, digital product, workflow automation and technology platform capabilities, including the identification and prioritisation of practical AI use cases, translating them into deliverable solutions with clear adoption, governance and impact considerations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and end users to understand workflow challenges, scope solutions tightly, ship quickly, and use feedback and operational data to iterate and improve delivered solutions.
  • Remain a hands-on technical contributor by designing solutions, writing and reviewing production code, resolving complex technical issues and establishing sound engineering practices.
  • Build and lead a small engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching and developing engineers, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Design and deliver secure, reliable, maintainable and scalable solutions, including AI-enabled applications, workflow automation and data-driven tools where these can achieve meaningful business outcomes.
  • Assess cybersecurity, data protection, resilience, integration and technology risks, and recommend appropriate architecture, controls and mitigations based on SGGC's information sensitivity and governance requirements.
  • Work with business units, end users, external technology partners and vendors to manage dependencies, integrate solutions and support delivery.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including experience leading technical teams, hiring and developing engineers, or managing complex delivery workstreams.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and delivering software products, internal digital products or workflow automation solutions from problem definition through deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Strong hands-on software engineering capabilities, including proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, APIs, databases and cloud technologies.
  • Experience designing secure, maintainable and scalable solutions, with sound judgement in architecture, integration, testing, deployment and operational support.
  • Ability to conduct technical reviews, establish engineering standards and provide clear technical recommendations on architecture, cybersecurity, data protection and technology risk.
  • Proven ability to work directly with business stakeholders and end users, understand complex workflows and translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical and delivery decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
