Intern, AI-driven Value Creation (6 months)
SG Growth Capital is seeking a Portfolio Growth Intern to support the portfolio growth team in driving strategic value creation and amplifying impact for growth-stage portfolio companies.
The intern will work across portfolio-company Singapore landing plans, go-to-market access, R&D and centre-of-excellence development, and talent support. The role is designed for someone who is highly analytical, commercially curious, and able to use AI tools to build lightweight agents or workflow automations to make portfolio support faster, more structured, and more scalable.
The intern will gain exposure to how the Portfolio Growth team manages senior relationships, supporting the team to identify high-value engagement opportunities, prepare sharp briefs, automate repeatable work, and develop reusable tools and resources that strengthen the team’s effectiveness.
Key responsibilities
1. AI agents for commercial access and portfolio support
Build AI agents to help the portfolio growth team qualify and prepare commercial access opportunities by automating research, stakeholder matching, introduction briefs, and follow-up tracking. The agents will also translate broad Singapore commitments, such as “AI CoE” or “engineering hub”, into practical execution options.
-
Use AI to accelerate company research, market and stakeholder mapping, drafting, and synthesis; identify repeatable tasks for automation or better data structuring.
-
Structure portfolio company information, meeting notes, company asks, and ecosystem contacts into reusable knowledge assets.
-
Develop and document reusable prompts, templates, and workflows for company briefs, go-to-market memos, talent maps, and CoE execution options.
-
Protect confidential information, verify source quality and AI-generated outputs, and retain human review.
2. SGGC events and programme execution
The intern will support the planning and delivery of SGGC-led portfolio growth and ecosystem-building programmes.
-
Support masterclasses, startup-corporate matching sessions, investor engagement activities, and other SGGC-led programmes.
-
Coordinate event logistics, stakeholder communications, registration tracking, participant briefings, event materials, and post-event follow-up.
-
Prepare concise programme reports and capture relevant opportunities, outcomes, and next steps for the portfolio growth team.
Requirements
- Final-year undergraduate in business, economics, engineering, computer science, public policy, or similar.
- Postgraduate, MBA, or MSc student with prior consulting, startup, VC, product, recruiting, or corporate strategy exposure.
- Strong research, writing, and synthesis skills.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity, incomplete information, and fast-changing company needs.
- Strong interest in venture capital, growth-stage technology companies, Singapore economic development, B2B go-to-market, R&D, or talent strategy.
- Able to produce concise, executive-ready briefs.
- Strong spreadsheet, presentation, and document-structuring skills.
- High discretion and maturity in handling confidential company and candidate information.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain trackers, dashboards, and structured databases.
AI fluency requirements
The intern should be able to demonstrate practical AI fluency, not just casual chatbot usage.
Minimum expectations:
- Harness LLMs to support research, synthesis, drafting, classification, and workflow design, and evaluate AI-generated outputs critically for hallucinations.
- Able to design structured prompts and reusable templates.
- Comfortable turning messy information into structured data.
- Strong practical proficiency in AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, with the ability to apply them to research, analysis, drafting, and workflow automation; familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms.
- Experience building simple AI agents, retrieval workflows, chatbots, internal copilots, or research assistants.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, data security, and human review when using AI.
Preferred but not mandatory:
- Experience with APIs, SQL, Notion, or similar workflow tools.
- Familiarity with concepts such as retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, structured outputs, tool use, workflow orchestration, and evaluation.
- Experience with CRM systems, data cleaning, dashboards, or knowledge-management systems.
- Prior work on startup research, market mapping, talent intelligence, or investment analysis.
