About the Portfolio Growth & Communications team

The Portfolio Growth and Communications team drives strategic value creation and amplifies impact for portfolio companies through growth initiatives, partnerships, and thought leadership platforms.

The Role

We are seeking a team player to drive value creation for portfolio companies in Healthcare and the Green & Bio-Economy. This role will report to the Head of Portfolio Growth & Communications and will work closely with portfolio companies (portcos) and ecosystem stakeholders.

You’re suitable if you’re a proactive, hands-on, self-starter with a builder's mindset and disciplined follow-through who can develop and execute value-adding initiatives to support and enable the growth of SGGC’s portfolio companies. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Drive portfolio value creation and Singapore go-to-market execution
  • Build and activate Singapore’s Healthcare and Green & Bio-Economy ecosystems
  • Translate technical capabilities into commercial outcomes

Key Responsibilities

1) Value Creation & Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution (Portfolio-Focused)

  • Co-develop and execute tailored GTM and Singapore expansion strategies for priority Healthcare and Green & Bio-Economy portfolio companies.
  • Work with portcos to define milestones across commercial pilots, R&D/master collaboration agreements, local manufacturing partnerships, and senior talent placement.
  • Drive high-value introductions between portcos and relevant Singapore demand drivers, technology partners, and multiplier networks.
  • Track and report key business and operational metrics.

2) Ecosystem Orchestration & Network Building (Industry-Focused)

  • Build and deepen SGGC’s institutional network across Healthcare and Green & Bio-Economy sectors, including:
    • Public healthcare institutions and their clinical key opinion leaders (KOLs).
    • Research institutes and academic medical centres
    • Green & Bio-Economy MNCs and corporates
    • Relevant government stakeholders
    • Map decision makers and buying profiles within each organisation; and cultivate senior-level relationships that create actionable opportunities for portcos.
    • Actively identify and drive cross-portfolio collaboration to unlock synergies across sectors and stages.

3) Technical Translation & Executive Influence

  • Maintain strong working fluency across relevant deeptech domains, including (but not limited to) biotech, medtech, synbio, biomanufacturing, decarbonization and new materials.
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear commercial and strategic narratives/business cases for corporates, government stakeholders and clinical leaders.
  • Bring executive presence to influence portco leadership on Singapore-relevant decisions such as anchoring headcount, R&D spend, manufacturing capacity, and clinical development in-market.

Who You Are

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or related technical discipline; postgraduate qualifications (MBA, MSc, PhD) or equivalent commercial/clinical training strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of working experience or 3-5 years of relevant experience across a combination of healthcare/green & bio-economy operating roles (product, BD, regulatory, clinical), venture capital / growth equity portfolio value creation, management consulting.
  • Demonstrable track record structuring and closing commercial, R&D, or manufacturing partnerships in Singapore or the broader APAC region.

Networks & Domain Access

  • Strong existing network of Singapore-based KOLs across research institutes, public and private healthcare institutions, and/or Green & Bio-Economy MNCs and corporates.
  • Fluent in Singapore's R&D grant landscape and comfortable navigating regulatory pathways and public sector engagement models.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into commercial, regulatory, and strategic conversations across diverse audiences.
  • Executive and relationship-building skills to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong documentation and stakeholder-management discipline.
  • Highly organised and execution-oriented, comfortable operating in a matrixed environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
