Senior Manager / Assistant Director, Corporate & Strategic Planning
The Corporate & Strategic Planning (CSP) team supports SGGC’s long-term direction, enterprise priorities, strategic initiatives, corporate planning and management reporting. As a senior individual contributor within the CSP team, the Senior Manager (SM)/ Assistant Director (AD) will lead key workstreams, strategic engagements and cross-functional initiatives, with accountability for analysis, deliverables and follow-through. In addition to supporting recurring planning and reporting processes, the SM/AD will help strengthen SGGC’s capabilities in areas such as long-term strategy, competitive landscape analysis and trend analysis. The SM/AD will also be expected to provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refinement of SGGC’s fund-level strategy, portfolio construction approach, deployment pacing and domain investment strategies, ensuring alignment with mandates and enterprise priorities.
- Generate insights on portfolio developments, market shifts and emerging trends to inform strategic decision-making and support the achievement of financial and developmental targets.
- Lead the development of strategic narratives and materials to support leadership’s engagement with key stakeholder groups, including the SGGC Board, the Investment Oversight Committee, and relevant government, industry and VC ecosystem partners.
- Contribute to and help shape SGGC’s long-term strategic perspective through analysis of global and regional sector trends, the competitive landscape in early and growth-stage investing, and changes in Singapore’s economic development priorities.
- Lead selected workstreams to support enterprise priorities and cross-functional execution, including working with investment teams to align on sector and portfolio priorities to support financial and developmental outcomes.
- Support management in evaluating and progressing key strategic opportunities and organisational priorities requiring structured analysis and coordination.
- Lead and support selected cross-sector and cross-functional strategic projects, including initiatives relating to competitive intelligence, digital and AI enablement, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Work with internal teams to translate strategic priorities into coordinated actions, ensuring clarity of objectives, roles and milestones.
- Lead agenda development and facilitate annual, mid-year and other periodic strategic review and workplan sessions.
- Drive the annual corporate planning cycle, including the development of annual corporate deliverables and cascading targets across teams.
- Track, analyse and report performance against corporate deliverables and overall fund KPIs for senior management, the SGGC Board and external stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of management and Board materials by distilling analysis, issues and recommendations into clear and decision-useful outputs.
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, strategic planning or similar roles.
- Prior experience in venture capital, private equity or government-linked entities would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to structure ambiguous issues and develop clear, practical recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex ideas and present them clearly and persuasively to senior leaders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across functions and drive progress through influence and coordination.
- Strong project management and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality outputs in a fast paced environment.
