International Trainee Programme in Risk / Starptautiskā prakses programma risku jomā | SEB, Riga
We are looking for trainee curious about linking data, risk and impact. Join SEB as a Trainee in Enterprise Risk and take your first step toward an exciting career in financial services. You will be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining key risk management frameworks, including risk appetite, capital, pricing, climate risk, and other overarching enterprise risk frameworks. The team supports implementation of these frameworks through risk monitoring, assessment, reporting, and control activities. The team also performs in‑depth analyses to support sound decision‑making across the bank.
As a trainee, you will actively contribute to ongoing work in several of these areas and gain hands‑on experience in risk management within the bank.
Your responsibilities will include:

Contributing to setting up and performing pricing controls, at the same time gaining understanding of pricing framework

Supporting in‑depth analysis of industries and risks within the bank’s portfolio (e.g. contributing to specific risk or industry analyses)

Contribute to the development of the Baltic bank risk appetite framework through relevant calculations and documentation
-
Supporting risk identification, risk assessment, reporting and other ongoing activities in different Enterprise risk areas via data inputs, document preparation and analysis

Devoting 30% of time outside the core function to your development: training organized by SEB Group (Stockholm), visiting international sites of SEB, and participating in various business challenges alongside other International Trainees
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

A recent Higher Education Degree (preferably Master’s) in Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Data Analytics, Mathematics or similar quantitative field, or last year Master’s student.

Relevant work experience (over 1 year), preferably in a large or international organization

Experience or strong interest in data analysis, financial or risk analysis, controlling, or similar analytical work
-
A strong analytical mindset, with confidence working with numbers, datasets, and structured frameworks, including proficiency in Excel.

High attention to detail and data quality, combined with a structured approach to routine tasks
-
Eagerness to learn complex topics, ask questions and to adapt in changing environment

A collaborative team‑oriented mindset, comfortable working with local and international stakeholders
-
Both analytical and communication skills with a potential to become a good stakeholder manager
-
At least C1 level in English in both written and verbal forms, to communicate and cooperate with colleagues across different countries and SEB offices

Willingness to travel across countries
