SEB Investment Management AB is one of the largest asset managers in Scandinavia managing more than EUR 65 billion worth of assets in our home markets and internationally. SEB Investment Management, Luxembourg branch is the local representation of our investment management business. We distribute our funds to retail and institutional investors in about 20 countries, focusing on the Nordic markets and central Europe.
One of our colleagues will be on maternity leave in 2022 and we are offering a temporary position Fund Distribution officer in our team for 1 year (Jan – Dec 2022).
What you can expect
You will support the Global and Local Heads of Distribution to achieve the targets defined in the business plan for Investment Management.
You will work in a team that enables the registration of funds for marketing in various different jurisdictions. For this purpose you will follow up on local regulations as well as the rules applicable in about 20 different countries that we are targeting for the distribution of our products. You will be close in contact with the relevant authorities, paying and information agents and other external players involved in the process. The filing of fund documents, the creation of cross-border notifications, keeping the registration matrix updated and following up on the registrations will be part of your role. You will also keep relevant working instructions and other relevant documentation up to date.
The responsibilities of the fund distribution team will also include supporting the Global Head of Distribution in managing and controlling the relationship to the appointed global distributor. We expect you to also help us monitoring the service quality of the involved service providers with regards to the market registrations and to contribute to develop the relationship with them. In order to organize our distribution processes in an efficient way, it is important to calculate and control the distribution cost together with the team.
What we expect
Although not a firm requirement, it would be appreciated if you had previous experience from the asset management business or fund distribution process.
We expect you to have high integrity, good judgement and excellent communication skills. You should be able to work self- managed and motivated with a permanent strive for improvements in client service quality and efficiency.  With a proactive, structured and delivery focused mind-set you would fit well into our team.
English in writing and verbal-communication is a prerequisite, language skills in French, Swedish or other languages would be an additional asset. We expect you to be a team player who is open minded, supporting diversity and equality. An understanding of the regulatory frame-work in Luxembourg is an advantage in the role.
Previous work experience and knowledge of international fund distribution will be considered a strong advantage.
