QubicaAMF is a leader in the bowling industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services. We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.  

As a Mechanical Engineer on our Continuation Engineering team, you will take charge of exciting projects focused on our current bowling lane and lane foundation product lines. Projects include researching materials, detailed CAD designs, setting product and material specifications, establishing test criteria, creating assembly and manufacturing procedures, etc. In addition, the position will provide strategic support and high-level planning/coordination among all engineering groups to ensure products meet safety, performance, and certification standards.  

Essential Functions

    • Applies engineering knowledge and project management skills to tackle issues and solve problems with new and existing products.
    • Provide mechanical engineering support in the resolution of product performance issues, safety issues or product compliance. Work with other engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing, and quality assurance staff to facilitate solutions.
    • Provide leadership, goal setting, communications, and facilitation skills as needed to guide and motivate project personnel.
    • Collaborates with our Mechanical and Electrical Product groups on worldwide product certification requirements during the initial and subsequent stages of new product development cycles.
    • Keeps abreast of the company's compliance needs at a high level by providing compliance deadlines, high-level plans, and strategies to meet them.  
    • Analyze data and provide recommendations based on sound engineering practices.   Provide mechanical engineering and technical support for existing and new products introduced in the domestic and international markets.

    • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • The position will not have direct reports.

    • Work Environment:
    • Approximately 85% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment, working under normal office conditions. Approximately 10% performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, which may require some safety equipment like steel toe shoes, ear protection, or safety glasses.     • Travel Required:
    • Approximately 5% travel to support offsite testing.

    • Required Education and Experience:
    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.    
    • 3-5 years of working experience with demonstrated design and analysis.  
    • Some working knowledge of Standards:  UL, CSA, hazard communication and labeling, RoHS, WEEE, or OSHA.
    • Background in laminates, wood, and engineered wood products is beneficial.
    • Strong electrical aptitude is a plus.    
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with project management software like “Monday” and “Azure DevOps.”
    • Proficient in Solid Works. 

$85,000 - $90,000 a year
