Each of these roles is a coach-player position, with individual technical contribution, technical leadership, and people management in roughly equal parts. As such, successful candidates will possess a broad and deep understanding of ion transport, atomic/molecular/optical (AMO) physics, and/or technical design with a focus on UHV (ultra-high vacuum) and cryogenic systems.
All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish strategic plans for your team, including:
-Technical scope: milestones, inchstones, and key decision points.
-Develop test plans and identify key handoffs with technical partners.
-Recognize critical interdependencies with peer groups and adjacent disciplines.
Own and manage programmatic execution of the above plans, including:
-Tracking and reporting of progress against the plan.
-Resource allocation and prioritization to meet milestones.
-Risk/opportunity identification and management.

-Develop and manage software tools needed for transport waveform generation, analysis, and trap design.
-Support transport functionality in all Quantinuum testbeds and commercial systems.
Physics Package & Validation Team Manager:
-Lead a team of scientists and engineers in the construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting of current-generation physics packages for all Quantinuum testbeds and commercial systems.
-Collaborate with quantum computing system architects and sub-system teams to derive requirements and testing plans for key subsystems in next-generation physics-package hardware.
-Lead a team of physicists and engineers developing and building atomic sources for delivering ions to quantum computing hardware.
Own the technology portfolio for your technical area; this includes IP development and capture, procurement planning, long-term development strategy, and roadmap planning.
