We are seeking a Quantum Compiler Engineering Intern for our Broomfield, CO location.

 

This internship role will be within the compiler team focusing on the capabilities and performance of programs running on our current and future state-of-the-art quantum computers.

 

Our compiler team builds the software that makes our quantum computers useful. We turn quantum programs into hardware-ready instructions that can run efficiently on our trapped-ion systems, and solve hard compiler and algorithmic problems required to scale performance as the technology advances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software architecture, design, and coding
  • Integration, test, and documentation
  • Work with software leads to define and execute core project

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Actively pursuing a Master’s, or PhD
  • Graduating on/after December 2027
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen. 
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status 

WE VALUE:

  • Previously taken coursework on compiler design fundamentals is strongly preferred
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement preferred
  • Fluency in Rust
  • Familiarity with software configuration, delivery, and deployment tools like Git, Jenkins, and Docker
  • Experience and/or interest in compiler tools, quantum circuits, circuit optimization, and quantum algorithms
  • Enthusiasm for problem solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
$33 - $41 an hour
Compensation & Benefits: 
 
The pay range for this role is $33 - $41 per hour. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
