Quantinuum are seeking to hire an accomplished Front-end Engineer for our Cambridge-based cloud platform team. In this role, you will help develop and maintain our quantum computing platform. You will apply your technical expertise to design and build robust front-ends for web applications that allow users to collaborate on quantum experiments, and you will work closely with designers to translate UI designs into reliable and performant code.
As well as hands-on development skills, the successful candidate will have experience of leading engineering discussions, selecting technical solutions that satisfy the product requirements, and mentoring junior team members.
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to work closely with world-leading researchers and build software which supports their scientific development.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years' experience developing professional web applications
- Comprehensive understanding of web fundamentals (CSS, HTML, JS) and Typescript.
- Experience working with Reactor other UI frameworks (ideally Next JS).
- Strong understanding of overall web application performance.
- Unit and E2E testing experience with tools like Jest or Cypress.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (a11y, WAI-ARIA)
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering.
It would be desirable to have:
- Interest in Quantum Computing Experience of implementing data visualization, particularly for scientific data.
- Experience of working with Fast API
- Experience of programming in Rust
