Project Manager - Quantum Chemistry

Quantinuum is looking for a scientific project manager to join our chemistry team. We aim to find a talented professional to handle the management of collaborative R&D projects with our partners and customers. In these projects, we explore the application of quantum algorithms to the ab initio simulation of molecules and materials of industrial interest.

The candidate will be responsible for managing these projects. This includes the planning and supervision of these projects, as well as progress monitoring, maintaining communication with customers and partners and generally working towards enabling delivery of the project. The candidate will work closely with the chemistry team and business development teams at Quantinuum and advance the current state of the field in the application of quantum computers to chemistry and materials science problems of industrial interest.

Key responsibilities:

    • Scientific supervision of the execution of technical projects related to the application of quantum algorithms to chemistry problems
    • Deliver technical presentations to customers on our quantum chemistry solutions
    • Project management

Requirements:

    • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (quantum), Physics (computational condensed matter) or similar
    • 5+ years of working experience in scientific/technical institution or industrial firm
    • Good communication skills
    • Extensive experience in the simulation of molecules and materials using ab initio methods
    • Ability to proactively define action plans to drive project to achieve goals
    • A track record of successful collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams.
    • Experience in the use of project management tools
    • Ability to travel overseas for business purposes

Desirable:

    • Familiarity with quantum computing
    • Writing and managing proposals, estimating cost
    • Able to independently direct work and solve issues
    • Good coding skills in python
