We are seeking a highly-qualified Operations Technician to join our team operating, maintaining, and developing H-series quantum computer at RIKEN’s Wako campus - REIMEI. This machine is a part of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry project to explore the integrated use of quantum computers and classical supercomputers, such as RIKEN’s Fugaku device. We are looking to expand our hardware team in Japan to support current and future projects as part of an integrated, global team of scientists and engineers at the forefront of quantum information science.
主な業務内容 / Key Responsibilities:
- グローバルなオペレーター・チームの一員として、クラウドベースのHシリーズ量子コンピューターの遠隔運用および保守を担当
- ローカルのHシリーズ量子コンピューターの保守・開発業務を支援
- 顧客向けの運用を支援するため、ソフトウェアやハードウェアの新たな開発分野に貢献
- Remotely operate and maintain cloud-based H-series quantum computers as a part of a global team of operators
- Aid maintenance and development work on local H-Series quantum computer
- Contribute to novel areas of software and hardware development in support of customer-focused operations as able
必須要件 / Requirement:
- 物理学、応用物理学、コンピューターサイエンス、工学、または関連する技術分野の学士号
- コラボレーションツール（例: バージョン管理システム、バグ追跡システム）および一般的なプログラミングツール（例: デバッガ、プロファイラー、ソフトウェアテストツール）の使用経験
- チームや会社全体での業務調整のため、英語および日本語での基本的なコミュニケーション能力
- 日本での就労にあたり、現在および将来的にビザのスポンサーシップを必要としないこと
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience with collaboration tools (e.g. version control, bug tracking systems) and general programming tools (e.g. a debugger, profiler, software testing tools).
- Ability to communicate at a basic proficiency in English and Japanese to coordinate work across the team and the company.
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in Japan.

- コンピューターサイエンス、科学、工学の修士号
- ソフトウェア開発、ソフトウェアエンジニアリング、またはR&Dの分野で2年以上のポストグラデュエート（修士号または博士号を含む）経験
- バックエンドやQAエンジニアとの連携を含むチームでのソフトウェア開発経験、アイデアの共有、コードのレビューや作成経験
- PythonおよびWeb開発のスキル
- 量子情報科学（QIS）に対する興味と、QISに関連する基本的な物理学またはプログラミングの知識
- TKET、Qiskit、Cirqなどの量子ソフトウェア開発プラットフォームの使用経験
- 研修や業務上の必要に応じた海外出張が可能
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Science, or Engineering.
- 2 or more years of post-graduate experience (M.S. or Ph.D. inclusive) in a software development, software engineering, or R&D role
- Experience working on software with a team including backend and QA engineers, communicating ideas, and reviewing and writing code.
- Proficient in Python and web development.
- Interest in quantum information science (QIS) and knowledge of fundamental physics or programming concepts related to QIS.
- Experience with quantum software development platforms such as TKET, Qiskit, or Cirq.
- Ability to travel abroad for training or other business needs.
