We are seeking a talented Cloud Software Engineer in our Broomfield, CO location. Our on-prem server applications are a critical element within the full software stack supporting our world-leading Quantum Computing capabilities. We’re looking for someone who can quickly leverage their existing skillset to work on new features and updates, while also helping to define how to improve our systems going forward. Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, deploy, and maintain software applications for the software stack supporting our Quantum Computers
    • Maintain and enhance our Kubernetes infrastructure spanning multiple clusters
    • Prepare and build needed observability features and processes for the cluster, such as performance metrics collection and integration with alerting for both internal code and key service platforms like Postgres, Influx and Redis
    • Implement new features as well as brand new software components, adhering to and enhancing best practices and testing coverage
    • Refactor and modernize legacy software components, with an emphasis on increasing quality
    • Collaborate with other software teams at Quantinuum to accomplish large-scale projects that span the software stack, in both the design and execution phases
    • Prepare and review architecture change proposals (ICDs, etc) ensuring all stakeholders needs are met and the technical decisions are approved 
    • Continuously update and backfill documentation for both team members and external users
    • Perform the focal role on projects, being responsible for driving design, execution, and delivery of a given project and serving as a single point of responsibility throughout the entire project lifecycle
    • Communicate new features and capabilities of the stack to software team members and users via wiki pages, diagrams, standing meetings, and presentations where applicable
    • Provide ongoing support to users ranging from answering questions to diagnosing and debugging issues on the fly
    • Collaborate directly with physicists to understand their needs and brainstorm possible solutions
    • Update existing legacy CI/CD pipelines and practices to modern approaches to ensure consistently high-quality delivery

YOU MUST HAVE:

    • Bachelor’s degree minimum
    • 3+ years of experience developing back-end server products
    • 3+ years of experience in web programming
    • 3+ years of experience with Python, Java, or microservices-oriented language
    • Due to contractual reasons, must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent resident or U.S. Green card holder

WE VALUE:

    • Experience developing and supporting software in a Rancher/Kubernetes environment
    • Familiarity with using CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience with Linux and Docker-based development and runtime environments
    • Development practices that produce high-quality software, such as layered testing  
    • Proven background in full-stack web development, including managing various database technologies
    • Ability to learn about emerging quantum computing architectures, principles, and programming
    • Familiarity with the Agile software development processes
    • Experience with AWS, Azure, and other cloud services
    • Ability to work independently within a high talent team 
    • Self-Starter willing to learn and apply new software skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
$110,000 - $170,000 a year
