We are seeking an Analog Electrical Engineer in our Broomfield, CO, location to develop high-power RF electronics for our trapped ion quantum computers. This role will be responsible for the simulation, design, fabrication, and testing of the trap RF signal chain and microwave antennas in our quantum computers. The individual in this position will work cross-functionally with other disciplines, including mechanical engineers, semiconductor packaging engineers, trap designers, and atomic physicists. The ideal candidate will be an early-to-career engineer. Key Responsibilities:
- Simulate, develop, implement & test the signal chain for our ion trap RF
- Perform 3D analysis & simulations for microwaves and RF
- Develop microwave antennas, power amplifiers, and PCBs
- Work with vendors & techs to fabricate passive resonant circuits that operate at cryogenic temperatures
- Work with experimental ion trap systems to architect and validate concepts for future systems
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- 4+ years’ experience in an Electrical engineering R&D environment
- 2+ years’ experience doing PCB development
- 2+ years’ experience performing 3D and 2D analysis & simulations for microwaves and RF
- 2+ year background working with RF electronics hands on the lab
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- PhD in Physics or Engineering preferred
- Background in semiconductor packaging technologies
- Experience working in cryogenic & Vacuum environments
- Familiarity with resonant circuits, phase noise, amplitude noise, & antenna design
- Background in atomic physics or quantum computing
- A proven track record of innovation and IP development
- Experience working within a cross-functional team environment
$116,000 - $145,000 a year
Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range for this role is $116,000 – $145,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
