Quantinuum is expanding globally and Japan plays a pivotal role in its development plan. You will work alongside the global communications team to ensure that corporate initiatives are parlayed and adapted into the APAC region. The Marketing & Communications Manager (working with the global communications team) Leads marketing initiatives for the Japan and APAC region. Representing ourselves as a global technology leader in quantum computing. This is your opportunity to join at the early stages of our expansion in Japan.

You will work closely with our business development, marketing, communications and world-leading scientific research teams. We are developing quantum software, applications, and hardware that will have a future impact on our everyday lives. You will have previous and extensive experience as a marketing manager in the technology sector, and quantum computing/high performance computer/scientific research experience is highly appreciated.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Japan CEO and relevant global functional leaders in the areas of the company that relate to marketing and corporate communication. The covered activities will be critical in ensuring the overall strength of the Company’s commercial positioning and stature in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. This role will require close coordination with multiple stakeholders in Marketing, Business, Product, Engineering and Scientific roles.
    • Working with the global communications team to lead in region corporate communications.
    • Partnering with marketing to ensure that there is brand consistency that helps drive awareness. Establishing a first-class brand recognition befitting the Company’s scientific and industrial aspirations. Stay abreast of global communications output, and create Japanese content that is completed to the highest standards of business and scientific writing.
    • Devise an overall communication strategy, handle project and task management, and report on media. For clarity, the role encompasses all aspects of marketing and communications including hands-on execution, which includes: drafting and editing Japanese-language releases, presentation material, other corporate communication formats such as blog posts, emails or intranet articles etc.
    • You will be responsible for proactively and reactively putting our company spokespeople in front of Japan press.
    • Planning and participating in tradeshows
    • Communication with the PR agency and journalists, you will own the management of the in region PR agency and ensure that messaging aligns with corporate brand messaging.
    • Supporting the development of joint communications with partners, customers and other stakeholders, and managing Japanese website communication and social media posts.
    • Stay on top of the Company’s news announcements and work with translators to complete Japanese press releases in a timely manner. Familiarize her/himself with the scientific concepts over time to help answer questions or elaborate further to achieve the desired impact.
    • Work with vendors and team members to plan, design, and create marketing materials for events and other marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education.
    • 8+ years of working experience in science, technology related industry.
    • 5+ years of proven marketing experience.
    • Experience in working in global, matrixed organization.
    • A track record of successful collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams.
    • Ability to proactively define action plans to drive end-to-end marketing activities.
    • Fluency in both English & Japanese to conduct complex and technical business communication including presentation and editorial work.

Desirable:

    • Post graduate education.
    • An educational background in natural sciences or engineering.
    • Experience or a strong interest in quantum or emerging technologies.
    • International experience either in education or work.
    • Experience in managing communication with external stakeholders such as government bodies, industry associations, trade bodies, academic or research institutions or consortia, etc.
