Our Japan business is growing to offer full spectrum of Quantinuum solutions to Japan market. To support our growth we are seeking an experienced Sr Finance Manager to join Quantinuum's finance team. Under the direction of the Finance Director (UK based), this role will be responsible for leading our financial infrastructure, process and reporting activities in Japan. Your expertise will drive the strategy and implementation that is needed to achieve our commercial and operations goals. With your ability to thrive in fast-paced and high growth environments, this role will lead on the implementation of the tools and policies to ensure high quality compliance and reporting, and to enable our leadership to convert financial information into corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design, management, and development of financial accounting infrastructure for Japan, in partnership with the global finance team. 
    • Manage all aspects of accounting for Japan entity. This may include but not limited to;
    • Manage general ledgers, AP, AR, in designated finance system.
    • Liaise with external book-keeping firm and review their work
    • Prepare and approve journals where needed
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Preparation/review of local entity reporting to feed into regular group financial reporting (monthly/quarterly/annual) following US GAAP, where applicable
    • Revenue recognition principles application and AR process 
    • Review and delivery of all local tax/statutory financial reporting and returns in partnership with external advisors.
    • Management  of external audits
    • Management of cash and cashflow forecast. 
    • Work with vendors and leadership to meet local statutory requirement as K.K. (株式会社)  
    • Prepare financial report for Japan office’s board meeting/investor communication
    • Establish business processes and internal controls and develop the local finance function to support group finance reporting and internal control requirements as well meeting local statutory reporting and tax requirements.
    • Work with global finance team to support planning, budgeting, reporting, forecasting and investment decisions.
    • Consideration of tax implications of business strategy in partnership with external tax advisors

Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. 
    • USCPA, Tax Accountant or relevant professional certificate.
    • 8 years+ post-qualified professional experience in accounting including monthly closing, reporting and general tax administration, ideally in a high growth environment.
    • Knowledge in USGAAP or IFRS.
    • Experience in business process improvement.
    • Experience of working in a group environment
    • Experience in revenue recognition for products such as services & software.
    • Advanced MS Excel, ERP system experience.
    • High level of analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize information, analyze large datasets, and present in a clear manner.
    • Fluency in Japanese & English to conduct complex business communication.
    • Ability to work flexibly to accommodate international meetings in different time zones.
    • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence technical, business, and operational decisions.

Desirable:

    • Master's degree in business administration or advanced degree in related field a plus.
    • Experience in procurement.
    • Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
    • Experience in internal controls.
    • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
