Quantinuum are seeking to hire an accomplished Research Scientist to join our Compositional Intelligence team based at Oxford. In this role you will be responsible for the further development of our activity in the areas of:
- Diagrammatics for photonic quantum computing
- Applied ZX-calculus
This role will have a particular focus on the development of relevant software, including for experimental projects. You will be working under Drs Giovanni De Felice and Senior Researchers Quanlong (Harny) Wang respectively, within the Compositional Intelligence team based at Oxford headed by Quantinuum Chief Scientists Prof Bob Coecke.
The team's other areas of interest are quantum computational linguistics and quantum natural language processing, and more generally compositional models for interpretable AI. The team also participates in a quantum gravity grant, including on the topic of ZX-calculus.
You must have:
- MSc in physics, mathematics, computer science, or related area
- Proven experience with ZX-calculus
- Good knowledge of quantum technology more broadly
- Profound programming experience
Desirable:
- Knowledge of NLP and AI
- Broad category theory knowledge
