Mechanical Engineering Intern - 990
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production release, including prototype and production hardware.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using industry‑standard CAD tools, applying GD&T and best drafting practices.
- Release and manage product data, drawings, and change orders in the PLM system in accordance with configuration management processes.
- Support and learn basic to intermediate mechanical analyses (e.g., structural, thermal, tolerance, and trade studies) to support design decisions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and scalable.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as specifications, test plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical risk identification and mitigation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and standards.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Graduating on/after December 2027
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred
- Experience designing and manufacturing hardware as part of projects, internships, clubs, or hobbies.
- Willingness for hands-on work.
- CAD Experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Continuing enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
- Basic understanding of mechanical properties
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Individuals who are results-oriented and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done despite competing priorities
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)
