Online Gameplay Progression Programmer

Reporting to the Programming Project Team Leader, you will participate in the implementation and development of the gameplay functionality architecture of an online project. Among other things, you will have the mandate to participate in the design, implementation, and integration of services for various online functionalities such as monetization, game progression, matchmaking, etc., to meet the specific needs of the project.

Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and integrate game features that use online services.  
    • Offer technical advice and provide game designers with the means to achieve their vision and ambition.  
    • Work closely with the project's other gameplay, network, and online programmers to ensure proper functioning with the other components of the game.  
    • Maintain technological monitoring of best practices and new technologies for online services and the web to offer the best online experience.

Experiences & Qualifications

    • A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent; 
    • Experience in developing online components of a published game; 
    • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, C++ language; 
    • Knowledge of Gitlab, Git or Perforce; 
    • Experience in back-end services and in a DevOps environment (or other relevant experience) is an asset; 
    • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an asset; 
    • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is an asset; 
    • Knowledge of Python or .NET Core is an asset; 
    • Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases is an asset; 
    • Knowledge of online services such as Playfab, Vivox, AccelByte is an asset; 
    • Development experience on Sony and Microsoft consoles is an asset.
