Reporting to the Technical Director of Design, you will actively participate in technical development activities, from design to launch and refinement of game features and systems used in our current ambitious projects.

Responsibilities

    • Prototype gameplay features for game designers: assisting in the production of technical elements of an ingredient or game system, continuously evaluating designs, game features and pipelines, identifying risks and seeking systemic improvements.
    • Contribute to data validation and debug by ensuring that designers meet technical standards and optimize game data as required to provide good game performance.
    • Document and communicate information on the use of gaming systems and best practices for the design teams.
    • Participate in the research and development of our game tools and systems to make their design team more efficient while communicating with various technical departments.
    • Coach content creators (Game Designers, Level Designers, Level Artists, etc.) daily in their integration efforts on the systems realized and validate their integration to ensure technical guidelines are followed. 

Experiences & Qualifications

    • 5+ years of relevant experience in developping AAA games; 
    • Proficient in Unreal Engine or proprietary equivalent, including visual scripting (eg. Blueprints); 
    • Proven production experience on PC/Console titles; 
    • Familiarity with procedural and systemic game design; 
    • In-depth understanding of game genres, mechanics, and level design; 
    • Proficient in 3D design software (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender); 
    • Familiar with bug tracking and project versioning (source control); 
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; 
    • Able to handle tight deadlines and changing project requirements; 
    • Experience in game programming is an asset; 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field is an asset.
