About Finom

Finom is a European tech startup headquartered in Amsterdam—and we’re on a journey towards revolutionizing the financial landscape for entrepreneurs worldwide. Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.

Over the past two years, our team has fuelled exponential growth, securing $50 million in investments and propelling us into hyper-growth mode. We’re on track to become a unicorn start-up by 2025, backed by global funds like General Catalyst (known for supporting Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe). Finom has expanded its reach across 10+ EU countries, with a strong presence in key markets like Germany and France.

At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience—we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.

Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.

About the Role:
We are seeking a junior-level Legal Counsel with expertise in GDPR, Intellectual Property (IP), and Information Technology (IT) law to join our dynamic legal team at Finom. • Assist with reviewing, negotiating, and drafting various contracts and agreements, including vendor agreements, commercial contracts, and licensing agreements.
    • Support in managing external counsels on various matters.
    • Assist the company’s fundraisings and other financial transactions from time to time.
    • Identify and assess potential legal risks and liabilities associated with business activities and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks.
    • Monitor changes in laws and regulations, particularly related to data protection, intellectual property, and IT law, ensuring the company remains compliant.
    • Assist with corporate governance matters, such as maintaining corporate records, facilitating board meetings, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Who You Are:

    • Up to 3 years’ working experience, preferably in law firms, IT startups, and fintech companies.
    • Knowledge of and experience in advising on corporate legal matters, commercial contracts, IP, IT, GDPR, and data privacy laws.
    • Other areas of legal expertise (e.g., financial regulation, litigation) are a plus.
    • Professional fluency in English. Other European languages are a plus.
    • Strong academic background (a law degree is a must-have, bar admissions are welcome).
    • Interest in fintech or financial products is a plus.
    • Candidate must possess the highest professional standards.
