About the role
The Junior DBA is an entry level engineer with academic experience in data bases who will need support mentoring and guidence to improve their skills. Is able to work with limited supervision on basic development and design tasks. Knowledge of Operating Systems such as Redhat or Centos, familiarity with some programming languages such as SQL, MySQL or Oracle and know about Linux. Consults unitables, consults of data functions.
What you will do
Install and configure PostgreSQL
Implement and manage the replication on the PostgreSQL Cluster
Implement/Support Failover Solutions
Provide query / index optimizations
Implement best practices on PostgreSQL Databases and Servers
What you will need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field or equivalent experience
Must have knowledge of Linux.
PostgresSQL tunning and performance
Performance tuning, query optimization & index tuning.
Knowledge Centos and Red Hat Linux
UNIX shell scripting, PL/pgSQL, Python, or Perl.
