PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE                                                                      
The Postilion Engineer will be considered a subject-matter expert, have excellent logic and problem solving skills with a drive to make a difference. The Postilion Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring, enhancing and patching of the PayU Postilion instances. Additionally this Engineer will assist PayU with Bank relationships in order to help clarify or fault find any issues encountered around the card acquiring space.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
·       Daily maintenance on the Postilion Servers and databases
·       Daily monitoring of the Postilion Server/Databases and transactional health
·       Timely testing and patching of the Postilion Servers and Databases
 ·     Creating and enhancing automated management and monitoring of the Postilion Servers
and databases
·       Ensure that all processes are documented
·       Test any new system releases / upgrades from Development or Service Providers
·       Ensure that a testing schedule and procedure is available
·       System Maintenance (Production and Test)
·       Database management and maintenance
·       3rd line Supporting role to assist with card acquiring related queries
·       On call/standby to assist with alerts or acquiring issues identified after hours
·       Occasional testing or fault finding with the Acquirers and Issuers in the card acquiring
space
·       Be the subject matter expert able to advise the core switch engineering team on possible
changes that need to be made to components that communicate with Postilion
·       Responsible for the DEV/TEST/PROD Postilion environments
·       Manage bank relationships
·       SQL scripting and query investigation

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE          
                                                                                      
Entry-level Requirements
·       Relevant Tertiary qualification
·       2-5 years in a Similar Role/ Postilion Engineer, Database Engineer
·       2-5 years Microsoft SQL experience
·       ISO 8583 messaging experience, is an advantage
·       Prior eCommerce/online card payments experience is an advantage
