As a Postilion Engineer, you'll be a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of PayU's Postilion instances. Your role encompasses system maintenance, monitoring, and patching, alongside fostering strong bank relationships to troubleshoot and resolve card acquiring issues.

Responsibilities:

    • Perform daily maintenance and operations of Postilion Servers and databases, prioritizing uptime and stability.
    • Monitor Postilion Server/Databases and transactional health regularly.
    • Conduct timely testing and patching of servers, ensuring system integrity and security.
    • Develop and enhance automated management and monitoring processes for Postilion Servers.
    • Document all processes and procedures meticulously.
    • Collaborate in testing new system releases and upgrades, establishing comprehensive testing schedules and procedures.
    • Manage database maintenance and optimization.
    • Provide 3rd line support for card acquiring related queries.
    • Be available on call/standby to address alerts or issues after hours, at times.
    • Conduct occasional testing and troubleshooting with Acquirers and Issuers.
    • Act as a subject matter expert, advising the core switch engineering team on necessary changes.
    • Oversee DEV/TEST/PROD Postilion environments.
    • Cultivate and manage bank relationships effectively.
    • Utilize SQL scripting for query investigation and database management.
    • Investigate and resolve production queries and issues promptly.
    • Provide end-to-end Postilion switch testing support.
    • Utilize MS SQL Server database development skills for data management and optimization.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and technologies to enhance system performance.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

    • 2+ years of experience in a similar role or as a Postilion Engineer/Database Engineer.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL, with 2+ years of experience.
    • Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard testing simulators and end-to-end Postilion switch testing.
    • Prior experience in eCommerce/online card payments is advantageous.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to enhance processes and understand requirements effectively.
    • Proficiency in analyzing databases and implementing processes.
    • Support in the development and processing of various reports.
    • Capability to write and edit programs.
    • Skilled in SQL scripting for querying and updating databases.
