About the Role
With the ever-increasing cyber-security threat, and our obligations to comply with PCI and GDPR rules and regulations, we at PayU are committed to maintaining a vigilant approach to protect our systems and data. The Cloud Security Engineer will play a key role in this process.
The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for discovering, analyzing, designing and mitigating the security threats and solutions in PayU’s products. We are looking for an engineer who wants to expand their skills and knowledge in both the offensive and defensive side, improving the security of our platforms.
What you will do:
- Design and build great software solutions to meet complex, system-wide requirements,
- Understand business requirements and translate them into code,
- Debug and consider test implications across protocol and architectural stacks,
- Work independently, yet know when to ask for input,
- Triage, analyze and investigate security issues,
- Write code that identifies and exploits software and hardware defects and gaps,
- Build security tools that automate red team and pen test operations,
- Integrate and adopt new security tools into the system and the development lifecycle,
- Work within a culture that is fast-paced, dynamic, and self-directed,
- Understand complex systems from the API layer to infrastructure.
What are we looking for:
- 3+ years of experience in offensive/defensive security testing,
- Experience with cloud security on one of the leading cloud providers (AWS would be an advantage),
- Programming experience in multiple languages are highly accomplished working in Javascript and have a real passion for learning new languages,
- Knowledge of attacks and mitigation methods, with knowledge in two or more of the following: Network protocols and secure network design; Operating system internals and hardening (e.g. Windows, Linux, OS X); Containers security, Web application and browser security; Security assessments and penetration testing; Authentication and access control; Applied cryptography and security protocols; Security monitoring and intrusion detection; Incident response and forensics; Development of security tools, automation or frameworks,
- Experience with securing distributed/microservices systems,
- Experience with Kubernetes security is an advantage,
- Curiosity and dedication to learning and are able to apply new knowledge in a pragmatic and timely manner,
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience,
- Excellent communication skills in English – both verbal and written.
